LOTUS FLOWER

This piece of furniture blends the modern aesthetics of minimalism with the tradition of historical forms. At the same time, it draws inspiration from nature, creating a product of the future – the Lotus Flower Sofa.

“In BXB studio we design not only buildings and their interiors, but also furniture. One of the first pieces of furniture created at BXB studio is the Lotus Flower sofa, which has just been honored with the international SIT Furniture Design Award! The Lotus Flower is a piece that combines contemporary design and minimalism with traditional historical forms, while also drawing inspiration from nature—specifically the lotus flower.
Our design philosophy, rooted in tradition and nature, remains constant and guides us consistently regardless of the scale of the project. This approach ensures the harmony of our buildings, their interiors, and the forms we create.”

Bogusław Barnaś, BXB studio

The aim of this project was to design a recognizable, iconic sofa with a unique aesthetic. This piece combines modern, elegant style with Baroque and Art Nouveau stylistic accents from past eras. At the same time, it references elements of nature, specifically the organic beauty of the lotus flower. The result is a sofa with a natural, exceptionally light, and distinctive form.

The sofa is crafted from the highest-quality materials: soft, pleasant-to-the-touch upholstery, precise and expressive stitching, and a refined base made of either steel or wood.

The Lotus Flower Sofa design has been selected as the winner of the international SIT Furniture Design Award 2025 in the Sofas & Couches category!

The SIT Furniture Design Award 2025 is one of the most prestigious awards in the field of furniture and interior design. This is the fifth edition of the competition, which received over 400 entries from 44 countries. As the award’s co-founder, Astrid Hébert, emphasizes, SIT is becoming one of the key platforms for discovering innovations in furniture and interior design.

Due to its unique design, the Lotus Flower Sofa has been protected by copyright through registration with the intellectual property office.
