Nature and History in One
The Polish Landscape Apartment, located in the center of Warsaw on Szara Street, is an interior inspired by nature and the Polish landscape. Through characteristic elements referencing Polish architecture and art, as well as carefully selected finishing materials, sculptural, painterly, and decorative features, we created a unique designer space rooted in local tradition and tailored to the individual context of the place.
Entrance Area
The entrance area pays tribute to Polish art. It introduces a minimalist space that, with the addition of paintings by Adam Patrzyk and carefully selected lighting, creates a mini gallery. Directly opposite the door, a sculpture by Xawery Wolski greets visitors, harmonizing with the curved shapes of the walls and ceiling. The console in the hall, with its sculptural form, complements the aesthetic and functional concept of the project.
Living Space Among the Treetops
The soft lines of the hall lead us to the living area, “suspended” among the treetops. This nature-inspired arrangement creates a harmonious connection between the exterior and interior worlds. Wooden floors in trapezoidal shapes and veneered wall panels with undulating, organic surfaces define the contemporary and innovative character of the space, which is full of softness and coziness, crowned by a built-in bio-fireplace.
Carefully selected furnishings subtly complement the space. A canvas by Artur Przebindowski provides a striking color accent. Delicate, thoughtfully chosen fabrics, lamps, tables, and chairs add lightness without competing with the surrounding landscape. Slightly heavier stylistic sofas balance the space, providing a sense of security, comfort, and permanence.
Kitchen with a Soul
The kitchen is a separate room, yet it connects visually and conceptually with the living area. By using metallic elements on the ceiling and walls, we maximized the natural daylight and “brought” the colors of the surrounding nature indoors, creating the illusion of a two-level, expanded space.
The kitchen was precisely tailored to the owners’ needs. Its functional layout ensures comfort for everyday use. One key feature enhancing this convenience is the large kitchen island, designed in a rectangular form. It incorporates a custom-designed internal “garden,” which creates a very welcoming kitchen space and visually connects with the greenery outside the windows.
Bedrooms
In the bedrooms, we drew inspiration from timeless classics while incorporating modern technological solutions. We paid particular attention to the ceilings, often overlooked in contemporary architecture. For us, they are a space for creativity and exploring new design possibilities. The multi-plane ceilings we designed give the space an entirely new dimension.
They reference, among other things, the ruins of a church that once stood on the site of the apartment building. By drawing from the tradition of this place, we create a dialogue with the past, shaping a modern interior that is far from anonymous. It bridges past and present, giving the space a soul.
Bathrooms
The bathrooms in this apartment are inspired by the Polish seaside. Here, motifs of waves, fish scales, and sandy beaches can be found. The interiors were created using neutral and natural colors, combined with innovative materials.
