Polish Houses are unlike conventional ready-made single-family house designs available on the market. They represent a completely new architectural service developed by BXB Studio. These homes are inspired by Bogusław Barnaś’s design philosophy of “Architecture Rooted in Tradition.” They continue the legacy of our bespoke residential projects, which have gained international recognition. Although each home is based on carefully developed structural and architectural principles, every project is unique and tailored to its owner through an individual personalization process.
What Do You Gain by Choosing a Polish House from BXB Studio?
Thanks to our proprietary design methodology, we can deliver homes more efficiently and with greater precision—tailored to your budget, individual requirements, and location—while significantly reducing the uncertainty that often comes with commissioning a fully custom design. At the same time, every project remains an original architectural work deeply connected to its local context. We have developed a range of material and spatial variations that adapt seamlessly to different site conditions, from flat plots to steep terrain, while complying with diverse local planning regulations. These designs are also the result of more than 20 years of experience and insights gathered by the architect, together with the owners of Polish Houses by BXB Studio, continuously refining every aspect of the architecture.

“Rooted in tradition, shaped through individual personalization, and inspired by iconic, innovative, and time-tested architectural principles, Polish Houses are designed to be enduring and timeless. At BXB Studio, we believe this is what gives them identity and soul. We believe they are far more than simply contemporary buildings.” ~ Bogusław Barnaś
Building the Polish Landscape – Polish Houses by BXB Studio are a response to the growing need for a new architectural quality that shapes and enriches the Polish landscape.
We have created a collection of homes inspired by Polish architectural traditions and by BXB Studio’s distinctive design language, which seamlessly combines heritage with contemporary architecture. Through these homes, we are helping shape the Polish landscape with architecture deeply rooted in Polish culture. In 2025, BXB Studio decided to develop the first Polish Houses community on a picturesque site acquired by the studio. We believe this pioneering development will become a benchmark for future architectural and landscape communities built on the same principles. We will continue to share updates as the project progresses.
We also offer individually personalized designs for interiors, gardens, the surrounding landscape, and even private shelters – one design vision, one story, one architect, creating one cohesive architectural work.

Scorpio House® is a proprietary system developed by BXB Studio for designing and building personalized nuclear-resistant shelters.
The House with Shelter and Scorpio House® Garden
What makes our approach unique is that we have redefined the very concept of a shelter. Rather than being an investment intended only for times of crisis, Scorpio House® is conceived as a luxury space that enhances everyday life—much like a sports car or a family yacht. Just as the utilitarian transport vessel evolved into the luxury yacht, we are transforming the conventional nuclear bunker into an elegant, multifunctional environment where owners can pursue their passions, relax, work, entertain, or simply enjoy exceptional architecture.
Adding a shelter increases the overall construction cost of a home only modestly, while significantly enhancing the property’s market value. That is why we see a shelter as one of the smartest long-term investments a homeowner can make. In the context of building a single-family residence, the cost is comparable to purchasing a high-end car. Yet a contemporary home equipped with even a compact shelter can command a substantially higher resale value. The investment can be compared to buying an apartment with or without a balcony: a relatively small additional cost—typically around 2–10% of the total investment—can increase the property’s value by 20–100%. This is the value proposition of a Scorpio House® shelter developed by BXB Studio.
One of the greatest advantages of choosing a Polish House is knowing exactly what the final result will be. Even more valuable, however, is the opportunity to own one of the most iconic homes in Poland!

EAVES COTTAGE, inspired by The Lesser Polish Eaves Cottage, recognized as the world’s most beautiful house, is a continuation of this iconic design. Thanks to the new architectural service developed by BXB Studio, you can become the owner of a home like this. The base floor area ranges from 180–290 m², with the option to expand the living space and add an underground level.
“THE LITTLE EAVES HOUSE was inspired by a small wooden cottage I came across by chance during a cycling trip. There was something about it that captivated me and stayed in my memory, much like the distinctive eaves houses of Lanckorona. The Little Eaves House breaks every convention, rule, and expectation. It is bold, asymmetrical, yet highly logical and consistent—and that is exactly why I like it so much. Its form is a direct result of function, ergonomics, and the way light shapes architecture.” ~ Bogusław Barnaś. The home offers a base floor area of 120–220 m², with the option to expand the living space and add an underground level.
SLAVIC HOUSE is defined by a simple, clear, and highly adaptable layout that can be easily personalized to suit individual needs. Its architecture blends naturally with every type of Slavic landscape. The base floor area ranges from 180–350 m², with the option to expand the living space and add an underground level.
MADE IN POLAND is a synthesis of the diverse typologies of single-family homes found throughout the Polish landscape—combining the iconic Polish cube house, the traditional gable-roof house, the contemporary modern barn, as well as modernist and single-story architecture. The base floor area ranges from 290–350 m², with the option to expand the living space and add an underground level. The very first Made in Poland was designed for an architect!

THE STORY BEHIND BXB STUDIO’S NEW ARCHITECTURAL SERVICE – POLISH HOUSES
The story begins in 2014. That year, we designed The Lesser Polish House for a client who ultimately decided not to proceed with construction. Later that same year, we began designing a home for another client – now a good friend and photographer, Sławek – which we called the Photographer’s House.
While we were developing the technical design for the Photographer’s House, we decided, on our own initiative, to create an alternative concept inspired by The Lesser Polish House. This led to the creation of The Lesser Polish Eaves Cottage. We presented the concept to Sławek, who immediately decided that this was the version he wanted to build. We will never forget his response: “Let’s start the technical design from scratch – but please, don’t come up with another concept.”
The Lesser Polish Eaves Cottage
winner of the international award for the World’s Most Beautiful House!
We received countless inquiries from people who dreamed of owning the iconic Lesser Polish Eaves Cottage. As a result, we created more projects, but we soon realized that we were unable to accommodate the growing number of clients interested in our architecture. That was when the idea emerged to develop a structural design system for the Eaves Cottage, followed by additional concepts such as the Slavic House, The Little Eaves House, Made in Poland, and others – homes that could be individually personalized time and time again. To help shape this idea, we invited Sławek – the owner of the iconic Lesser Polish Eaves Cottage – to join the discussion. At the time, we had just begun working with him on another project: the revitalization of the Matylda Mine building. Together, we set out to identify which aspects of The Lesser Polish Eaves Cottage could be refined after ten years—functionally, aesthetically, and technologically. Sławek had only one real suggestion: he said he would consider a smaller home, as maintaining 370 m² was quite demanding, especially since his family of five preferred to take care of the house themselves. At BXB Studio, however, we decided not only to reduce the size of the house but also to introduce entirely new, forward-looking architectural and technological solutions. The result was a completely reimagined Eaves Cottage, created specifically for individual personalization, with a floor area of approximately 190–290 m². Despite its more compact size, we succeeded in preserving a very similar functional program. We also gave the house a new architectural expression, introduced several innovative construction and technological solutions, increased natural daylight, strengthened the connection between the interior and the terrace, added a separate office with its own external entrance, and incorporated many other improvements. In addition, we drew on ideas developed in several of our other projects. Every time we create a home for our clients, we further refine it through our proprietary personalization process, adapting it to the specific site, its context, and the client’s individual requirements. As a result, every Polish House has its own distinctive identity and character. This design methodology allows us to reduce both design time and costs while making it possible to create many more homes – not only across Poland but around the world.
